Runnian Dong
Dong Runnian, born in Tianjin, is a screenwriter and director in Mainland China. He graduated from the Directing Department of Communication University of China in film and television directing (undergraduate) and film studies (master's).
In 2003, he served as the screenwriter of the period sitcom "Qingming Restaurant", thus launching his screenwriting career. In 2004, he served as the screenwriter of the sitcom "College Dormitory". In 2009, he served as the screenwriter of the urban emotional drama "Ugly Girl 3". In 2013, the comedy movie "The Cook, the Actor and the Scoundrel", which he co-wrote with Guan Hu, was released. In 2014, he wrote and directed the TV series "Things in the Harem Season 1"; in the same year, he served as the screenwriter for the comedy movie "Heart Blossoms" was released. In 2015, he served as the screenwriter of the drama film "Old Paoer", for which he won the Best Screenplay Award at the 31st China Golden Rooster Awards. In 2019, the comedy movie "Crazy Alien", which he served as screenwriter, was released; on December 13, the romantic science fiction movie "The Man Caught by the Light", which he wrote and directed, was released.
